Izumo City collects taxes in order to provide various public services such as welfare, education, fire departments, emergency aid, and garbage collection. If you are eligible to pay the following taxes, you must pay them in order to use these services.

Please contact Izumo City Hall if you are struggling to pay your taxes by their deadline or if you are moving out of Izumo City e.g. because you are leaving the country. If you do not pay your taxes by the deadline, you will receive a notice of late payment (tokusoku-jō) and you will have to pay both a handling fee and a late fee. Your assets may also be seized.

The tax notice (nōzei tsūchi-sho) and the insurance premium notice (hokenryō tsūchi-sho) are important documents in determining your taxes and insurance premiums. The notices contain information on applicable laws as well as e.g. on the amount payable and the deadline.
