Izumo City collects taxes in order to provide various public services such as welfare, education, fire departments, emergency aid, and garbage collection. If you are eligible to pay the following taxes, you must pay them in order to use these services.
Please check the different types of taxes as well as the timing and place to pay each on the Izumo City homepage.
Please contact Izumo City Hall if you are struggling to pay your taxes by their deadline or if you are moving out of Izumo City e.g. because you are leaving the country. If you do not pay your taxes by the deadline, you will receive a notice of late payment (tokusoku-jō) and you will have to pay both a handling fee and a late fee. Your assets may also be seized.
